El Momento Espresso
PERU | MEDIUM - DARK ESPRESSO ROAST
WHOLE BEANTASTING NOTES:
This coffee was roasted to a nice medium dark color to exploit its deep Browning Sugar notes leading right into 85% cacao, roasted hazelnuts ending with a bright blood orange acidity when you pull a shot. As a French Press or Drip Coffee, this cup will give you a nice punchy chocolate up front leading into a roasted almond profile ending with a more mellow acidity akin to a ripe blueberry, as to why we recommend a higher brew ratio.

LOT INFO -
We are super stoked to be carrying this coffee!
Deep within Junin, Peru, lies a distinct coffee-producing region where unique habitats connect and an incredible wealth of culture and nature coexists. This breathtaking landscape serves as a vibrant biodiversity bridge, spanning the gap directly between the high peaks of the Andes mountain range and the lush expanse of the Amazon rainforest. It is here that the Warmikuna Women's Cooperative produces an exceptional coffee lot: the Warmikuna Women's Group G1 Washed SHB EP. The very name Warmikuna translates to "women" in Quechua. This ancient tongue, famously spoken by the Incas, remains the second most widely spoken language in Peru and is still used throughout several countries in South America today.
The journey behind this coffee began back in 2010, when a small handful of female coffee producers stepped forward to join the Volcafe Way cluster in Junin's coffee-growing region. Twelve years of dedication and hard work later, the official Warmikuna cluster was born. Today, this group is comprised of 55 thriving women who have taken on a leading role in the coffee business by strictly adhering to Volcafe Way agronomic standards. At the core of their collaborative success are six innovative business model farms. These select farms spearhead profitable sustainability and cutting-edge regenerative practices, acting as real-world showcases where neighboring producers can witness proper technical training in action.
The coffee itself is shaped entirely by its majestic environment. Grown at high altitudes between 1,100 and 1,650 MASL, the lot features a traditional variety blend of Caturra, Typica, and Catimor. Every year, during the harvest window from March to June, the cherries are carefully selected and undergo a pristine washed processing method. Brought to you by Genuine Origin, this green coffee lot delivers a beautifully clean cup that tells a story of ecological harmony, ancient lineage, and a profound step forward for female leadership in agriculture.
